Jazz at School: didactic show with LIVE MUSIC, THEATRE, IMAGES PROJECTIONS
Jazz at School is a pedagogical show performed by a group of musicians with educational training.
It is created from the wish of disseminating Jazz music, making it friendly and didactic to all kinds of audiences.
It represents de historic evolution of Jazz from its beginnings (blues, swing, be-bop) up to its contemporary expressions (fusion with Latin rhythms, Brasilian…). At the same time some historical and social basic knowledge about its environment is brought up. To show all this, we offer a performance that combines live music, theatre and images projection. The result is a very entertaining show for the audience, meant to stimulate their hearing sensitivity, though comparison of rhythms and melodies along Jazz evolution.
Jazz at School has been performed with great success in Museum of America, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Buero Vallejo theatre (Alcorcón), José Espronceda Cultural Center, Jaca Jazz Festival, different educational centers of the Madrid Community…among others.
